Johnny J Parker Lee

Hi, my name is Johnny, and I am an Information Science major at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I'm an aspiring product designer from Tampa, Florida, but I currently live in Boulder, Colorado.

As a kid, I grew up being very interested in fashion and sports. I played many sports like basketball, football, wrestling, and baseball, and I liked seeing how different athletes dressed. I viewed fashion as a luxury and, I couldn't afford the styles that I was interested in but, I always thought about what made me like it. I love sports fashion and streetwear because of how they make me feel. When I wear sporty clothes, I always feel motivated because the clothes make me feel more prepared to do those physical activities. For instance, basketball shoes are designed to protect the heel, so if I'm playing in running shoes, I don't feel like I can cross an opponent to make a basket because my heels aren't protected. Realizations like that inspired me to want to work for companies like Nike or Adidas because I want to help bring those experiences to other people.

I am also interested in the environment and climate change. My goal is to design future interactions that will make people more aware of the environmental impacts people have when purchasing sportwear products.
